This article addresses eBay return cases opened for one of the following reasons:
ORDERED_WRONG_ITEM ; ORDERED_ACCIDENTALLY ; NO_LONGER_NEED_ITEM ; FOUND_BETTER_PRICE
Such return cases fall under “Buyer Remorse”. This means that you do not need to refund the buyer's shipping costs. If the return goes through, the buyer will need to pay for shipping, both ways.
If you choose to accept this return, you should get a non-prepaid label from your supplier*. Give the return address and RMA (if provided) to your buyer.
If the buyer does not ship the return back within seven days, you should call eBay and ask them to close the return case in your favor.
In case your buyer does follow through on the return, and the item is delivered back to your supplier, you’ll be asked to issue a refund. When it comes to that, if you are given the choice to “Refund original shipping”, you should leave that box unchecked:
